Starter

At one point moving the engine I inadvertently broke the starter housing. I had been moving the engine and it fell over and broke the relay portion off the cast iron housing. It sat for many years until I disassembled it and cleaned the unit. After reading up on brazing I figured it could not hurt to give a shot at brazing the cast iron casting together. I know Joe Virog had done the bottom of the block which was clearly evident after cleaning. Since it is a non structural part I figured it could not hurt. It may not be pretty  but the repair did the job.

Here is some data if anyone is interested in brazing cast iron: Brazing Cast Iron

In addition to the repaired starter I have been able to acquire a NOS starter pictured above so in either case good to go.
