Body

The body of the car was in pretty rough shape especially the nose. The rear tail section had been cut to allow for a cross support to the later roll bar some one had attached. The nose intake had all been broken our and the nose had been cut on either side and pushed down and fiberglassed over. After some work I got it close but it is still rough.

I have been able to procure a new nose from Mark Schoenlein who is into JABROs. Mark you are a life saver!!  Now she will look the way it did when dad raced I just have to put in the lens covers for the lights.

One of the noses Mark is selling me.

The rear will need some work . The vents that were on the rear had been opened out to make just a vent hole. I was able to find new vents at West Marine as the are marine closet stainless steel vents of all things.

The tail lights were the biggest challenge. Dad had replaced the original lights ed Zink used with a beehive type domed lens light and after many years of searching I found the were Yankee 975 tail lights. A very common light used in the 50s and 60s on trailers, trucks etc they came in red and clear as a back up light. In addition I found a source for new lenses so I bought in quantity.  I have quite a few tail lights that I purchased off of eBay it pays to have spares. It gave the car a very distinctive look having 4 of these at the rear. One slight twist is to make them 2 pin lamps so that the lights can be on for rain or night.
